Old Inn has a new philosophy – there’s nothing more popular than good Fish & Chips – alongside a great choice of menu to meet the needs of tourists and locals alike.
Niall Colquhoun had worked with R H Morton at The Lodge on Loch Lomond since 1996 and when this popular Inn at Inverbeg further up Loch Lomond came on the market, he welcomed the challenge to attain his vision of a second family hotel.
Less than 30 minutes drive from Glasgow International Airport and set back on the A82, only five minute north of the picturesque village of Luss, the 200 year old Inn on Loch Lomond is ideally located to explore the Loch Lomond area or stop over while travelling the West Highlands. An extensive redesign has integrated stylish modern facilities and décor, while retaining the ambience of a traditional Scottish Inn. Managing Director, Judith Tatham was tasked with finding the best Three Pan Traditional Fish & Chip Range as an addition to the main kitchen and driving a design to cope with a big influx of numbers at a busy time.
Based on their customer service, Kiremko was chosen as the brand to put in. The stylish design options with Kiremko means that you have the great look coupled with efficient performance. The various designs offered have often been copied but never matched. All stainless steel work surfaces and panels are seamless for easy cleaning. Intelligent use of heat exchange technology offers the lowest energy consumption coupled with fantastic output. The OES (Oil Efficiency System) protects and prolongs the quality of the oil reducing wastage by up to 50%. Automatic filtering was a must in the hotel environment with different chefs using it over the years.
To go with the introduction of fish and chips as a major part of their food operation, came the full back of house preparation area with IMC as the brand of Chipper and Peeler with Morton fabrication for the potato station and associated tabling, not forgetting a good filter and grease trap. Seafood, Steak and Burgers add to all the fishy delicacies with quality, speed and presentation being of the essence.
A Pass/Servery was made by R H Morton to cope with both the fish and chip menu and the main dining menu which runs through the bar. It has a 7 metre length with double gantries and both hot cupboards and refrigerated counters underneath. The Charvet brand was once again chosen by Niall Colquhoun to provide that long term investment a family owned operation has the foresight to provide.
Brand New Bar Design
Not only does R H Morton design and manufacture commercial kitchens, but also bars, either with modular IMC Bartender stations or a bespoke manufacture – more often, a combination of the two to give flexibility on the one hand and to maximise the use of the space on the other.
Morton’s own fabrication facility puts it in a unique position to fulfill this role. The original Inn has been a popular stop over point for travellers for nearly two centuries and offers a very extensive Whisky list, Wine by the glass and a fantastic range of Real Ales. All public areas have been completely redesigned with a programme of ongoing development in the years to come and a full After Sales Service provided by R H Morton.
