Production Manager

Due to retirement, R H Morton & Co Ltd requires an energetic and experienced Manager who will add value to an already sound business enjoying an enviable customer base in the design, manufacturer, distribution and servicing of Commercial Catering and Marine Galley Equipment.

Responsibilities
  • To plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and according to a production schedule for the job
  • Work with the Sales Director to review and adjust the schedule where needed
  • Determine, develop and manage human resources to meet production needs
  • Make decisions about equipment use, Implement maintenance, modification and procurement within prescribed guidelines
  • Work with Tradesmen and the Management Team to introduce technical improvements and methods of working
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials and Production reports
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions and training for improvement
  • Estimate production costs and update labour and material charges on current system
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments and all staff
Experience
  • Good general education to minimum Highers/A Level and Further Education, familiarity with CAD, and good engineering aptitude.

  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques

  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards

  • Solid computer skills

Parts Manager

Responsibilities
  • Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Take charge of Goods Inwards and Outwards on a daily basis, dealing with carriers and fellow workers
  • Maintain computerised stock records and requisite paperwork
  • Take Customer enquiries for Spare Parts, and liaise with the sale and ordering of these
  • Issue Purchase Orders as required and match incoming Delivery Notes & Invoices
  • Work with Tradesmen and the Management Team to introduce agreed improvements and methods of working
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Keep Parts Departments in a clean and orderly state
  • Direct periodic Stocktaking
  • Assist with deliveries as and when required – regular carriers generally used
  • ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments and all staff
Experience
  • Education and Experience
  • Good general standard of education with Plumbing, Gas, Electrical or Metal materials knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience in customer service
  • Sound ability to operate an established computer system (training given)
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
